"The installation we designed embodies the values we focus on at the Herkes İçin Mimarlık Derneği, such as inclusivity, participation, and advanced transformation."
As part of the Samsung Eco-Package project, Kubilay Ercelep & Serap Kaçmaz from the Herkes İçin Mimarlık Derneği have designed an installation that can serve various functions such as a table and storage space using triangular prisms produced from TV boxes.
The Herkes İçin Mimarlık Derneği is a platform where volunteer students and professionals come together to find creative solutions to social problems in the fields of architecture and design.
Their starting point for designs addressing the effects of consumer culture was the waste that accumulates in our homes.
Kubilay and Serap created three triangular prisms by cutting a TV box. To allow the prisms to fold and occupy space, they first made holes in the surfaces. Connecting these holes with waste strings corresponds to Samsung's environmentally sustainable packaging approach that avoids the use of staples.
In their designs, the number of surfaces can be increased or decreased according to the user's needs. Thanks to this flexible design, individuals can create different compositions based on their needs rather than having a single option.
