The wooden route in Ankara offers the opportunity to explore the wooden architectural culture of the city through experience. The route highlights the wood-oriented architectural heritage in Ankara. The estimated route takes place for app. 2-3 hours with the guidance of Cem Dedekargınoğlu, Cemre Gökpınar & Merve Şanlı in both Turkish and English. The route includes:
Ankara Castle: The surroundings of the Castle, as the first residential are of the city, present important examples of wooden architecture.
Istiklal Quarter: Known as the old Jewish settlement, still preserves the original wooden structure.
Hamamönü Neighborhood: Carries the last examples of Ankara from the Ottoman period to present day.
Ulus Posta Street: contains the last remaining wooden houses around the Turkish baths that have survived to the present day.
