The Woodlife Symposium, which was orga - nized by The Circle, in partnership with Architects Sweden and in cooperation with the National Wood Association within the scope of Woodlife Sweden in Turkey program, took place online between 9-11 November and brought together industry stakeholders from Turkey and Sweden.
In the symposium organized to encourage the use of wood, which is a sustainable building and design material, in different scales of design; Examples of traditional and innovative uses of wood from past to present, forest management policies and the importance of wood in design education were discussed with architects, designers, academics, decision makers and experts.
The symposium was held with the support of Fişekhane, Hemel, Nippon Paint, Novawood, Spax and Technowood. 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, the expected changes in the construction industry, where wood plays a key role as a renewable material, and the work of local governments, non-governmental organizations and universities, which are the stakeholders of this process, were included. The three-day discussion and exchange of ideas focused on wood as a renewable resource, the cyclical characteristics of design and practices, and technological innovations in wooden buildings.
