Open Boundary, an open discussion platform on the contemporary interactions of architecture and design, will be realised on 4th June, 17:30 at Turkish Trade Center’s London centre as part of London Festival of Architecture.

Organised by architecture practice MeMAlondon, Open Boundary is a roundtable that aims to bring boundaries up in relation to diversified habitats. Speakers will include Dilek Öztürk, Co-Founder of IN-BETWEEN Design Platform; Alper Derinboğaz, founder of Salon Architects; Zeynep Aydemir, researcher on architectural design learning; and Mert Eyiler founder of MeMAlondon.

The roundtable will take its reference from Göbeklitepe as the point of zero for architecture and the connection between boundaries and the ways we will practice architecture and design in the future. Discussions may consider varying conceptualisations of the word ‘boundary’ and responses to this concept.

Open Boundary will be moderated by Zeynep Aydemir, Assistant Professor of Architecture at MEF University Faculty of Arts, Design and Architecture. Dilek Öztürk, Co-Founder of IN-BETWEEN Design Platform, will be talking about, creating value through design in today’s society where design is perceived as soft power of countries. She will be presenting how to create global design brands through IN-BETWEEN’s research based methodology. Alper Derinboğaz, founder of Salon Architects will be talking about the connections between the future architecture scenarios and he point of zero for architecture through the Science Island project in Kaunas. Mert Eyiler founder of MeMAlondon will be talking about an unbounded design language through his practices in London.
