About Equal Spaces
Equal Spaces is a long term creative exchange between Turkey and Sweden initiated by the Swedish Institute and the Consulate General of Sweden in Istanbul. Together with a number of Swedish and Turkish partners from different sectors, the project Equal Spaces focuses on the city, public spaces, architecture and design, aiming to open up new dialogues, transfer knowledge and create innovative solutions that contribute to a smart, creative and inclusive society.
Starting from October 2019, Equal Spaces is partnering up with the Circle, Architecture & Culture-Art Platform under the roof of Equal Spaces. The collaboration is a series of events aiming to bring professionals from the fields of urban design, architecture, art, culture and design together around a learning, sharing and interactive platform.
About The Circle
The Circle is a research and production platform for architecture, art and culture developing projects and hosting events to deepen and share architectural knowledge and practice.
At The Circle we perceive the culture of architecture from a multifaceted perspective and are conscious of the fact that architecture is inseparable from other academic and artistic disciplines. This is why, in addition to developing architectural research projects, we aim to be an open platform for projects, exhibitions and events that bring together culture, arts and architecture.
As we aim to explore and practice the interdisciplinary interactions of architecture, The Circle also hosts exhibitions, panels, seminars, academic lectures, various workshops and stage performances. Our multi-layered, open-ended and multidisciplinary platform is always open to new contributions and ideas.
