“ham:mzemin” curated by in-between; On September 28, will host its first event at Bomonti ham:m Plus Store.
ham:mzemin is based on the idea of creating a “ground” where design culture and individuals who focus on this culture can come together through different activities. ham:m brand’s ham:mzemin, an interaction channel that supports local production and is fed by a design approach that appeals to future generations, will hold its first event at the Bomonti ham:m Plus Store on September 28th.
ham: mzemin, fed by togetherness; It aims to create organic domains that allow ideas to collide and new collaborations to take shape by inviting opinion leaders, creative profiles, academics, non-governmental organizations, entrepreneurs. In the period we live in, how can we get out of single dialogues and create values that we can feed from multiple interactions? Aiming to be collective at every stage from the idea to the production process, ham:m invites its stakeholders and friends to meet at the first event of the floor.
ham:m will open its doors to different sectors for two days, creating a platform that allows for new collaborations. The outputs obtained from the student workshop on 13-14 September will be realized and exhibited in rooms designed with different themes in the store. The panel moderated by Banu Uçak will take place on September 28 with the participation of Nevzat Sayın, Sinan Logie and Sevil Dolmacı. Focusing on the theme of “Heritage”, the panel focuses on the concept of memory fed from our environment and our daily lives in the age of fast consumption; it aims to present new initiatives with the participation of representatives from the fields of architecture, city and art.
Banu Uçak
She was born in 1979 in Istanbul. After FMV Private Işık High School, she graduated from Yıldız Technical University, Faculty of Architecture, Department of Architecture and still continues her Architectural Design degree program at Istanbul Technical University.
After the Assos Archaeological excavation and architectural trials at TALU Ltd., she started working at the Building-Industry Center, the leading information center of the building industry, in 2001, where she took on different duties for fourteen years. She ended his career at YEM as Strategic Marketing and Business Development Coordinator. She worked as Assistant General Manager responsible for Project Sales and Business Development at Seranit Group. She is currently working as the general coordinator at Ferko İnşaat. At every step of her career, she tried to develop projects that increase the quality of the architectural culture and the built environment in Turkey, and she still continues. Apart from being a jury member such as Aga Khan architecture awards nominator and jury member of the World Architecture Festival, she also served in non-governmental organizations such as INDER Board of Directors and ULI Turkey Board of Directors. She examines the structures of the Art Noveau period in Turkey in the projection program she has already prepared for the TRT documentary.
Nevzat Sayın
He was born in Hatay in 1954, during the appointment of a civil servant father. After his experiences in Gaziantep, Ankara, Istanbul and Bodrum, he graduated from Atatürk High School in Izmir in 1974 and from the Department of Architecture of the Faculty of Fine Arts at Ege University in 1978, again in Izmir. Between 1978-1980, he did his master's education at the same school, but he did not finish it. All this İzmir process enabled him to adopt and internalize the 'Aegean Culture' which is evident in his later speeches, writings and actions. Between 1980 and 1984, he returned to Istanbul for what he called 'after-school education' and worked with Cengiz Bektaş. Between 1984-1986, he took a break from his architectural studies, made 'wisdom tours' with a focus on antiquity, mainly in the Aegean Region, and took photographs. He continued his architectural studies with different office structures until 1990. He was nominated for and received awards for domestic and international architecture awards. His works between 1990-2004 were collected in the book "Dreams, Thoughts, Works" prepared by Tansel Korkmaz. In 2015, "A Building Book", which describes the thought and production process of Umur Printing House, was published by Umur Publications. In addition to his ongoing studies under the name of NSMH, he continues his services as a lecturer in different architectural schools in Turkey as a founding member of Istanbul Bilgi University Architecture Graduate Program and studio manager. Summer schools, conferences, juries and workshops for architecture students continue to be important parts of its relationship with architectural education. His architectural writings, interviews, exhibitions and publications are part of his work.
Sevil Dolmacı
Sevil Dolmacı, who has an academic background, did her master's and doctorate studies on art history and attended trainings on contemporary art at the Royal Academy of Arts in London. She carried out private works in various institutions, especially the Saatchi Gallery and the Tate Modern Museum in London. As of 2004, she took courses in the fields of art history and contemporary art at universities and presented papers focusing on contemporary art trends at national and international conferences and symposiums. Dolmacı, whose articles are published in art magazines and newspapers published in Turkey and Europe, has participated in private television channels as an expert guest and acted as a program consultant.
Dolmacı, who has been providing art consultancy services to large collections for more than ten years, she has worked as a consultant and curator for important projects, especially DEMSA Group Art Consultancy and Museum Project, St. Regis Hotel Project, Demirören Group Art Consultancy, Kemer Country Golf Club Sculpture Park Project, Kabakçı Collection Art Consultancy. Sevil Dolmacı also continues to provide consultancy services to individual collections, galleries and artists.
Sinan Logue
Sinan Logie graduated from the Faculty of Architecture of the Free University of Brussels, Victor Horta in 1998. He carried out his first architectural experiences at L'Escaut Architectures, one of the most progressive offices in Belgium. Logie, who moved to Istanbul in 2011, has been teaching at Bilgi University, Faculty of Architecture, undergraduate and graduate studios since 2013, in addition to her architectural and artistic studies.
His book 'Istanbul 2023', which he wrote with Yoann Morvan and discusses the sprawl of the city, was published by B2 Publishing House in Paris in the fall of 2014. The Turkish version of the book was published by İletişim Publishing House in 2017. In addition, since 2015, he is among the founders of the Beyond Istanbul institute, which focuses his research on spatial justice, together with Yaṣar Adanalı. Since 2014, Oktem Aykut has been continuing his art work with the gallery.
