Today, as the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic are felt densely in the political, economical, environmental and identical areas, the notion of conscience has become one of the most important elements re-shaping consumer tendencies. We are reconsidering the systems and the connections we live in, both in macro-scale with the borders shutting down between countries, and in micro-scale with being distant with our loved ones. In line with this understanding, NellyRodi Trend Agency’s 2022 Lifestyle trends are being shaped in different concepts around design and architecture. NellyRodi’s major current concepts are: sovereignty, security, serenity, spirituality, solidarity, simplicity, spontaneity, sustainability, sensitivity and being scientific. NellyRodi is examining the 2022 Lifestyle trends on four consumer profiles based on tradition, emotional state, expression and questioning criteria. Enhancers are reinterpreting traditional methods with the relation of cause and effect, Healers are tending towards emotional development based on tradition, Posers are defining themselves with emotional expression, and Enlighteneds are shaping themselves around an existential cause.

Posers, are actually insatiable. They also have a sensitive, spontaneous and simple attitude. Besides the egocentricity, being fun, showing off and popularity, they have the motivation to live without causing damage. In this trend, Posers are creating projects through interactive architecture leading to memorable experiences and taking us out of our daily routines. Pop colors, maxi scales, presentation of the brand’s DNA in large format are also emerging in this trend. Materials that absorb and reflect light, can create a graphic language with color and light while shifting perspective. German Ermic’s installation in Cannes called ‘When the Rainbow Ends’, is taking the objects we integrate with Cannes into different meanings by reflecting on colored glass and thus shifting the perspective of the audience.

‘Essence’ of the Grohe family corresponds to this trend. Essence underlines its clean shape being reduced to the essential. Its sleek and delicate design depicts a single hole installation. Its variety of materials and colours allow the user to reflect his personal choice and create his own experience.

Enlighteneds, strengthen their charismatic status with their conscience. Sovereignty and security also take an important place in their spiritual world. Being proud, keeping promises, being grateful, ethical values, togetherness and sharing are very important for this consumer group. The design and architectural reflection of this consumer trend is as follows: Reflections that make us lose our sense of space with mystical and spiritual experiences, together with hypnotic scenographies. Architecture emerges to emphasis infinity and magnificence. The feeling of infinity is underlined in this design trend through mystic references and clear geometries. For instance, the Chinese Culture Exhibition Center designed by Qingdao Tangyuan Design elevates the sky and its reflection.

This design trend engages with Grohe Atrio. Minimalist chic meets precise engineering; Atrio offers a modern and sleek style. This timeless design serves a real feel of luxury with being hand-assembled and engineered to offer premium performance.

Enhancers; is a consumer profile especially related with the independence from place, not being rooted in any place and learning from nature. When our freedom of movement was restricted after the Covid-19, we understood how fragile the world we live in is and how it can disappear in any moment. For this reason, the choices that create autonomy are emerging in this profile. One of the most important architectural examples corresponding to this non-spatial trend is the Garden Hotpot Restaurant designed by MUDA Architects in China. The restaurant's design is not rooted anywhere. It is hanging on to the water element. The restaurant has no external or internal walls, only thin steel pillars are used as carriers. The wooden deck and the canopy covering the space blur the boundary between the building and the nature, bringing people closer to nature.

Grohe AquaSymphony corresponds to this trend. Today, the notion of luxury has shifted towards mind & body wellness. AquaSymphony by GROHE is turning bathing into a sensorial experience which renews our body and enriches our daily routines. In this exclusive experience, water is merging with sound, light, color and evoking all senses through the ever changing harmony of showering.

Healers, can be matched with the Japanese term “Shun”. “Shun” means that something is full of its life force and enthusiasm. Healers are focusing on people who are honest, positive, life-affirming and also shaping our cultural lives. Art is one of the most important factors shaping cultural life and effecting the city in various scales. Last year, Judy Chicago's pop-up, inflatable installation 'Female Divine' in the garden of the Rodin Museum for the Dior Couture Spring Summer presentation is one of the most important examples of this trend. Judy Chicago’s philosophy celebrates women's achievements in society. Rather than expressing this philosophy with minimal lines, she prefers to reflect it with bold colors, curvy forms and symbolic geometries that symbolize female power. The form of this building she designed for Dior symbolises a goddess.

GROHE Plus corresponds to this trend. We are rethinking our connection with ourselves and the universe. This collective consciousness creates empathy which brings practicality and comfort together. GROHE Plus responds to the times we live in through accuracy, strength and stability supported by an innovative range of products enabling comfort, convenience and control. GROHE Plus is creating awareness for water usage, such as showing the temperature of the water on the faucet or through control features combined with ergonomic comfort.
